Kenai River Fishing Report: June 16th 2024
Water Flow at Cooper Landing Bridge(cfs): 6220
Water Flow at the outflow of Skilak lake(cfs): 7820
Weather and water trends/outlook: Weather has been great. Sunny skies and summer sun!
Russian River Salmon through the weir: Not enough to frigging care!
Second Run Sockeye passed the sonar: Starts July 15th typically, so nothing yet.
Trout Fishing: Has been great. The closure helps put the trout back in dumb dumb mode. The first few days of the season you certainly get away with a less then perfect presentation. The Kenai River can be incredible for new anglers this time of year. Four guys all caught Dollies together within the first 20 minutes of the season. Fishing continues to be good as the water levels slowly climb.
Salmon Fishing: Woof. Go home. Try next week.
Large Adult King Count: lol but like if the letter o in the middle of the lol was a 0.
